This aircraft is Tanker 57, a Douglas DC4, C-FIQM, owned and operated by Buffalo Air out of Yellowknife, N.W.T., Canada [CYZF]. The photo was taken late in the day--which means close to midnight , this being the land of the midnight sun--near the abandoned town of Pine Point, N.W.T. The sun was as close to the horizon as it gets in July and gave a nice golden glow to the subject (or airplane as most would call it).
